Karen Elizaga founded Forward Options because she wants to help others understand and discover that it's possible to love all aspects of life — academically, professionally and personally. In addition to her own personal challenges that stymied her growth and evolution at points, Karen brings 15 years of experience in the legal, business and non-profit communities of New York, London and Washington DC to her coaching practice. Karen has supported her own knowledge by learning about the experiences of hundreds of successful and happy women and men around the world.

Karen grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii where she graduated from Punahou School in 1988. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree at Columbia University's Barnard College in 1992 and her law degree at American University's Washington College of Law in 1996. Karen has lived in New York City, Paris, Washington DC, and London and has traveled to roughly 40 countries.

In New York, Karen worked as a corporate attorney with Jones Day, specializing in hedge fund and mutual fund issues in connection with securities laws. Leaving New York for London in 2000, she served as an executive for two technology companies during her five years there. With Urbanfetch UK Limited, Karen was Executive Director of two of the company's four teams, Business Development and Product Management.

"When you were talking to us at the workshop, you don't sound like my mother, you sounded like a good, old friend. Thanks for everything, Karen." ARLEN
