Later, at Global Name Registry, the license operator of .name, the global top-level domain specifically for individuals, as approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, Karen served as Vice President, Policy and General Counsel. In addition to legal work at GNR, she represented the company's interests in global policy-making efforts and lobbying American and international governmental agencies on behalf of the company.
Having had an epiphany in London – that it is possible for her to truly enjoy all aspects of her life – Karen decided to share this concept and related skills with high school girls. Starting in 2004, she interviewed accomplished women and men in different industries around the world to determine what exactly led them to success and happiness. In 2005, she began coaching and running workshops, passing on the tips she's developed and collected for long-term achievement, and providing insights and tools for girls and women to proceed to their next steps in life with confidence.
Karen is a member of the International Coach Federation and a partner at Dorothy Rose 13, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of girls between the ages of 10-16 through a free sleepaway summer camp and retreats throughout the year (www.dorothyrose13.org). Karen also sits on the Board of Directors of the New York Asian Women's Center (www.nyawc.org), an organization committed to ameliorating the lives of Asian victims of domestic violence. In addition to her various endeavors, Karen is working on two books. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Jay, daughter, Sloane. and son, Finn.
