"I told all of my friends about the information you discussed and they were all jealous that they weren't at the workshop." KATIE
"Although I didn't want to attend the workshop in the beginning, I am really glad that I did. Thanks!" NICOLE
"I almost turned back at one point, wondering if this Forward Options Workshop was really worth my time. However, I went through with it all, and I think my only regret now is that I should have left my house three hours earlier than I did that morning. I walked into the workshop without any objectives. I walked out with hope, strength and confidence." LY

"Someone to talk to + someone who cares + someone who is always there with answers + a best friend = the perfect role model. Karen will always believe in you. Karen, you're more than an inspiration!" HALLE
Success is often measured at the high school level by your GPA or how popular you are, but your concept of achievement may differ. Just because you haven't done as well as you think you should have doesn't mean you're destined for failure. Trust us. You have so much to experience, and we can help you discover tools to achieve your own successes and simply to get the most you can out of your life!
Different from a college or guidance counselor, we provide practical lessons on life in the "real world" by sharing experiences of women in their journeys toward achievement – both their victories and their "I-wish-I-would-haves."
In high school, you're starting to think about leaving your comfort zone to take your first critical steps into adulthood. These next steps can be exciting, nerve-wracking and exhilarating at the same time. With peer pressure and toxic media messages, you face constant challenges to your confidence and self-esteem. You're not sure how you're supposed to interact with people outside the classroom. Maybe you're not certain what you're supposed to be focusing on. You're not sure what you're going to be. You don't understand how it's possible that you can feel good about yourself. Or maybe you're just confused because you don't have any of these issues. In any event, life just seems overwhelming!
Through group and individual coaching, Karen shares information collected from successful women around the world with those who would benefit most from it – young women like you who have yet to make your own way beyond the comforts of home.
Forward Options Workshops are designed to calm your nerves. We remember what it was like to search for purpose, to have insecurities, and to face the many challenges to our faith in ourselves! Forward Options Women went through all of that! The real world is easier to navigate with some guidance, so we explore important aspects of a successful journey through life, including:
• Cultivating self-love / self-esteem
• Building and projecting confidence
• Presenting your best self
• Setting and attaining goals
• Fears and successes in college
• Interview skills
• Workplace and email etiquette
• Career options
• Relationships
• Anonymous question and answer session – there are no stupid questions
Presenting Yourself: Everything in life starts with a conversation! Unfortunately, people make judgments in seconds, so confidence, your outward attitude and appearance are integral parts of your success. Karen teaches skills to present yourself in the most optimal light and encourages you to practice those skills during college, before you set foot in a professional environment. You will learn to present your best self during a college interview through lessons from Karen's workbook, Rock an Interview: It's Your Time to Shine!
Importance of Goals: We talk about creating your ideal vision and making a plan on how to get there. And if you don't have a clue about what you want to do, that's all right, too!
College Success: College is simultaneously a dress rehearsal and the foundation for real life. What you accomplish during these years are the first important entries on your resume, vehicles to learn what you do and don't enjoy, both professionally and personally, and therefore your first significant steps toward success.
Relationships: The ability to maintain successful relationships is important to your growth as a person, as well as a career woman. We discuss the idea that long-term friendships, cocktail party acquaintances and even fleeting airplane conversations can turn fruitful.
